Entering the holiday season…

When I started this site & blog, I set out to write once a month…and that’s just not what ended up working. I focused more heavily on social media while trying to keep up with orders and website fixes. I also did a LOT of in-person events this last year and a half. I tested out summer events, fall events, and now on to holiday-themed events. Trying to find my groove for coming years.

I do love to write, and I actually think this space is great for the few that will see it and read through. I’ve found myself ‘stuck’ at Sport Zone, waiting on practices and working on my laptop. I find so much can be accomplished in such little time when I’m away from home in a space with a lot of white noise. Maybe that’s what I need in this season in life to be most productive. Maybe it’s what we all need.

What are your favorite ways to be productive? What do you have to accomplish in a day to feel like you did ENOUGH? I always feel like I need some kind of tangible proof. THIS is what I did today. So, being a stay at home mom has been a little mentally difficult. There’s not always something to show for it! Yesterday, I worked for hours on holiday lip balm. The result was over 200 products! But they all fit in one tiny box….NOT looking like I accomplished much at all. Why am I always measuring my output?

Now, we’re entering the holiday season. With baggage and issues, with estrangement and losses, but I’m trying. I’m trying to feel festive and trying to WANT to be a salesperson so I can contribute to our house build and general family expenses. I’m trying to WANT to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years. I’m trying to be excited. It’s easy when I look at my kids. It’s not as easy when I have to leave them for work. But I do it, as do all the other parents in this busy time of year.

I’m ready for January. The slow days and snuggles. The hiding out at home and enjoying puzzles and campfires. But this isn’t going to be a sprint - it’s a marathon and I know I can do it (so can you). I’m definitely not going to wish the time away.

We’re all in this together…right?
